The Fall Packet

 

Also known as “The Back-to-School Packet”<= /p>

 

Many schools prepare a mailing to go out to all parent= s at the end of the summer.  And ma= ny PTSA’s provide the volunteer labor to collate t= hat packet and insert a set of PTSA materials as well.

 

Suggestions for your PTSA Fall Packet:

 

  • Fall Fundraiser Info
  • Invitation to your back-to-school barbeque or other welco= me event
  • Dates for your school’s Curriculum night or Open Ho= use
  • Date of the first PTSA meeting
  •   For example, Newport’s Senior Party and Baccalaureate Committees create a flyer just for S= eniors that goes into the Fall Packet.  What about a flyer to welcome Kindergarten families, or to share information and gather names for the Fifth Grade Party committee?

    The district copy center is quite busy over the summer= .  To ensure that your copy job is completed before your school’s packet goes out, try to get your docum= ents to the copy center before school lets out.

     

    Tip:  Run= each flyer by the previous chairperson before going to print.  An experienced set of eyes can be = a big help!

     

    Tip:  Your successor will need hard copies of each flyer as well as electronic copies.  Now is a good time to create a folder on your PC for documents to be given to your successor.

     

    Tip:  Whe= n you gather to collate the fall packet, ask a volunteer to bring snacks or beverages.  Your volunteers wi= ll appreciate your thoughtfulness!
