Meeting was called to order by President Connie Gerlitz at 9:37 a.m.

 

October 2007 meeti= ng minutes were distributed and approved as written.

 

Treasurer’s = Report by Janet Suppes

Janet had copies of the report for those who wished to see it. There were no questions or comments about the report. John St= okes made a motion to approve $200 toward campaign signs used for 4204 campaign.= The motion was seconded and carried.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

Leadership Report = by Audrey Bennett

There was a handout about upcoming trainings. Audrey reported that the 2nd annual Education Roadshow will be held on Janua= ry 30th. Topic is Curriculum Web. PTA’s are requested to do public relations f= or event. Robinswood staff appreciation is going w= ell. Thanks to Newport and Tyee for recent contributions. Sweater, bac= kpack and coat drive is currently underway for students at Robinswood High School.

 

Legislative Report= by Eric Matson

Eric reminded all to vote to approve 4204 at election polls on Tuesday. He thank= ed phone callers that helped with the campaign.

Individuals report= ed on successes and events at their schools.

 

Bellevue Schools Foundation (BSF) report by Diane Paukstis and Christina Coutsoubos

It was reported that the October phoneathon raised $176,000 to date. This is shy of the $250,000 goal but it is expected= that the goal will be reached by the end of the year. There was= a reduced number of phone callers this year. The committee is evaluating the results. June 5, 2008 is the Spring for Schools luncheon fundraiser. Connie Gerlitz encouraged PTA’s to find 10 guest= s to attend and sit together at tables for the event.

 

Scheduled Speakers:

Byron Shutz and Barbara Billinghurst presented a slid= e show on The Crisis in Funding for Public Education: Your Child’s Future= is at Stake. The presentation is available on CD for schools to use at meetings. It was put together by Washington State PTA.

 

President Connie Gerlitz adjourned the meeting at 11:00 a.m.
